Culture Fit assessments to setup India entity
Challenge
A major German luxury automobile manufacturer was establishing its own India entity after years of operating through partner organizations. Approximately 350 professionals were already supporting its projects across India under contractual arrangements with leading IT companies. Before extending employment offers, the organization wanted to conduct a comprehensive culture-fit assessment to identify employees best aligned with its values and ways of working. The exercise had to be completed within a highly compressed timeline across Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, and multiple remote locations.
Intervention
Whitespace partnered with the client to design and execute a large-scale culture-fit assessment process. The client identified 11 critical competencies that were essential for success within the new India entity, and all interviews were structured around evaluating employees against these competencies. Employees were segmented based on tenure and assessed through structured interviews conducted by a team of 7 assessors. Through meticulous planning, close stakeholder coordination, and a blend of online and offline assessments, the team successfully interviewed all 350 employees across locations within a record 12 working days.
Impact
The project was delivered on time despite the scale, geographic spread, and aggressive timelines. The assessment reports provided the client with objective and actionable hiring recommendations, ultimately supporting the hiring of approximately 310 employees into the new India entity. The engagement played a critical role in helping the organization establish a strong cultural foundation for its India operations while ensuring a seamless transition for talent.
